Hey!
I'm looken' for some fellow Burners (other people who go to Burning Man) from Fort Collins. Just moved into town about 7 months ago and I'm trying to hook up with the local contingent. Maybe we can get some billion bunny marches, beer crawls, santa con's and other gatherings started??? collaborative art installations for the playa??
Any burners (like me) most likely not going to make it to Burning Man '06?? I'm interested in setting up some sort of - much more local - weekend long camping trip... or join one that might already be set up?? for the stragglers.
Gimme a holler if you're intrested.
Looking forward to hearing from and hopefully meeting with some of you! I hear you're lurking out there somewhere!

At a guess, I'd say the biggest concentration of "burners" is down in Denver and Boulder (there's even an effort to create a burner-centric neighborhood in Denver), as well as some on the western slope. As you spread out from there, it gets a bit more sparse, but we still exist. My lovely partner and I are in Berthoud now and there are a few in Longmont and Loveland, but I'm not sure who might be up in Fort Collins.
Your best bet is either to hit a regional event like Apogaea (already past for this year), or to get on the colorado burning man email list at colorado-bm@yahoogroups.com. There are other more specific lists for groups like the Colorado Fire Tribe and the HeeBeeGeeBee Healers, but the colorado-bm list is the right place to start.
Afraid we're not going to make it to BM '06 ourselves. We're having a baby instead (something we're just not up to doing on the playa). -

Mon, January 29, 2007 - 9:45 PMNot an official "Burner" yet, but I have many burner friends & family. I've been to local burner events, and I'm planning to move out to Ft. Collins this summer (probly w/ other almost-burner friends)... perhaps we'll make it out to Burning Man this year!!! There may not be many now, but I'll jump onto the nascent pile!! *GRINS*

In any case, drop us a line when you arrive. Our little one is four months old now, so we're finally getting enough sleep to be a little more social again.

Wanted to bump this post back up and chime in with my "yeah we're burners too!!!"
Have yet to actually do the BRC thing, but I loves me some Apogeezus!

As a side note, do you know about fire performing in foco? It would be radical if we could set up some performances. I heard someone used to spin in downtown. Know anything of this? I'm achin to break out my fire staff this summer.

Sun, June 15, 2008 - 3:55 PMUnfortunately, Naughy Lil Kristy and I will be in Winter Park for Sonic Bloom on the 21st, so we won't make it to Avo's, but we have a beautiful home here and would love to host the next meet and greet... It would be pretty low key, BBQ, music, potentially a little fire spinning in our yard, and good chance to meet new people in the scene... any interest?
Peri - glad your first Apo was good, this was our fourth and they just get better and better every year... Don't know of any established fire spinning performance, but I have several friends who spin poi and we ought to try to put something together...
CatCat - damn, I didn't even put together who you were, we totally know each other! Lets hang a little over the summer and collaborate!

Apogea was pretty fun... in June, the regional burn. But it wasn't the same, I still haven't put my finger on why... hm. Good luck! My little sister lives in Foco... she spins staff and hoop. She is on my friend list... [ph] you should talk to her...
